An Afternoon in Port de Sóller

welcome celebration

Port de Sóller

Port de Sóller is a coastal village in a natural horseshoe bay on Mallorca’s northwest coast. Port de Sóller features two main sandy beaches, Platja d'en Repic and Es Traves, both located in a sheltered bay which allows for calm, shallow, friendly waters.

We chose Sóller because it offers excellent deep water soloing (DWS). The crag is quiet and sheltered, with nothing much higher than 30 feet, except at the far right hand side of the crag, where the cliff rises to around 50 feet. It is possible to access the crag from town, but the approach is fairly technical. We will be providing boats to shuttle groups from the beach to the crag. The boat ride is about 5 minutes.

Don't want to climb? Swim in the bay, walk along the promenade, or check out the nearby village! We will be providing drinks and snacks.

Deep Water Soloing

Deep water soloing (DWS), or psicobloc, is a form of free-solo rock climbing performed above a body of deep water, using the water as protection instead of ropes or harnesses. Climbers ascend cliffs over oceans or lakes, falling into the water when they can no longer hold on.

We started DWS'ing here in 2019, and have experienced many of the amazing climbs Mallorca has to offer. We love Sóller for it's sunny bay, protected waters, and easy approach.
